MEET BRIAN

"Lifelong Resident Fighting For Our Kids"

I am a lifelong Winchester resident dedicated to our town.  I attended the United Methodist Nursery, St. Mary's Elementary, McCall Junior High and Winchester High School.  After WHS, I studied at Harvard College where I majored in Applied Mathematics.  After earning an MSE from Princeton University, I earned my PhD in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University. My wife Shannon, a pediatrician at MGH, and I chose to settle in Winchester in 2003 as I completed my PhD.

After graduating, I worked for many years in biotech pharmaceutical development before transitioning to being a stay-at-home dad.  Our two amazing daughters are both being educated and thriving in our public schools. Both attended Lincoln Elementary and our youngest is now at McCall while our oldest just started at WHS this year.  Collectively, they love soccer, dance, softball, band, chorus, Girl Scouts, and baking (most especially!), along with all their academic subjects.

Winchester means a great deal to me.  I have served wherever possible in our schools, our town government, and beyond.  I have been elected to the School Improvement Council at each of my children's three schools, currently serving at WHS.  Beyond elected service, I have volunteered at Lincoln as the 5th grade co-chair and field day co-chair, and at McCall as the Parents Association Co-President for two years.

In our town government, I currently serve on the Finance, Capital Planning, and Energy Management Committees.  I am also the FinCom representative to the McCall Expansion Phase 2 working group.  Through this committee I have a deep understanding of this critical school building project.  I also am proud to be an active member of Town Meeting, elected to represent Precinct 4.

Finally, as the father of two daughters, I have been a proud supporter of Winchester Girl Scouts for more than a decade.  As the town wide cookie coordinator for the past 7 years, I have access to all the cookies in town, if you need any.

When I'm not at a meeting or with my family, you are most likely to find me out running or at the gym wearing my Reach the Beach sweatshirt.  Please come up to me and say hello, or click on the button above to email me.  I'm always excited to meet residents of our wonderful town.
